At Winger Clinical Counseling, we specialize in trauma-based therapies- such as EMDR and Internal Family Systems-to help you unburden pain, rediscover your Self, and create lasting change.

What if the parts of you that feel broken were never broken at all?

Our Approach

At Winger Clinical Counseling Services, we walk with you in a safe and supportive environment, honoring your experiences, voice, and inner wisdom. We believe healing grows when we see the whole person—not just symptoms. Our work is client-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based methods.

You’ll be invited to:
• Explore how past experiences and trauma shape how you view yourself, others, and the world
• Meet the different “parts” inside you—learn to understand, honor, and build relationships with them
• Leverage your unique strengths to move toward your goals—peace, clarity, connection, resilience
• Advance mental, emotional, and physical well-being in an integrated way—because healing isn’t just in the mind
• Gain education and insight so you can more fully understand your patterns—and begin to live from a place of confidence and authenticity
• Give feedback throughout our journey together to ensure alignment with what matters most to you

Methods and Modalities

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a trauma-focused therapy that helps your brain process and release painful memories that may feel “stuck.” Through guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR allows you to reprocess these experiences in a safe way, reducing their emotional intensity and helping you feel more grounded, free, and in control of your life.

Internal Family Systems

IFS helps you explore and understand the different “parts” of yourself—like the anxious part, the critical part, or the protective part—that may feel at odds with each other. In therapy, we create a safe space to meet these parts with compassion, so you can unburden past pain, heal old wounds, and reconnect with your calm, confident core Self.

ACT Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps you navigate the lingering effects of trauma by changing how you relate to painful thoughts and feelings. Instead of fighting or avoiding them, ACT teaches you to notice these experiences with compassion while taking steps toward what truly matters to you—so healing becomes about reclaiming your life, not just reducing symptoms.

Attachment Based Therapy

Attachment-Based Therapy explores how early relationships and patterns may influence how you relate to yourself and others today. By understanding and healing these relational wounds, you can build healthier connections, feel more secure, and foster a greater sense of safety and trust in your life.

Solutions-Focused Therapy

Solution-Focused Therapy helps you identify your strengths and the steps you can take to create meaningful change in your life. Rather than dwelling on the past, this approach focuses on what’s working, what’s possible, and how you can move forward—empowering you to overcome challenges and build a future aligned with your goals.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

DBT is a skills-based approach that helps you feel more stable and supported as you work through the impact of trauma. By building tools for mindfulness, emotion regulation, and healthy relationships, DBT strengthens your ability to stay grounded and safe—making it easier to heal past wounds and create meaningful change in the present.
